Corpus luteum: The benefit of corpus luteum in pregnancy is to produce progesterone support until the placenta is established by 12weeks. If the corpus luteum is ruptured and is unable to provide adequate progesterone, it is unlikely that pregnancy will thrive. The pregnancy can as well be supported with vaginal progesterone until placenta is established. Good luck.
