Complex Joint: The shoulder is a complex joint, & many conditions/ injuries (rotator cuff injury, bursitits, tendonitis, labral pathology, etc) can cause pain. Some injuries of the shoulder are acute & some are from overuse. While you can certainly start w/ rest, ice, & nsaids (if not a problem for you), i also suggest you see an ortho for a specific treatment plan http://drmarkgalland.Com/category/shoulder/.
