How long does it take zoloft to get into blood stream or take affect? i took it for 6 days and tapered off using 25 mg, 50 mg, 50 mg, 50 mg, 25 mg, 25 mg, 12.5 mg, then off. did i taper ok for only being on it 6 days?

Sounds fine.: It can take quite a few weeks for Zoloft to have any clinical benefit. If you only took it for one week at the doses you’ve described, it’s doubtful you would have experienced any clinical benefit. If you stopped it due to side effect, then your dose schedule seems to have been prudent.

That is fine.: However, a taper was not likely necessary for this low a dose for this short of a period of time. Please let your prescribing provider know that you discontinued this medication.
