Yes: The transplanted organ will always be seen as a "foreign object" to a recipient's immune system and could be targeted for attack (known as rejection) at any time. The amount of immunosuppression needed to keep the immune system from attacking the organ may decrease with time and age, but some will always be necessary and should only be adjusted by your transplant team
