C3/C4 nerve innervat: When the diaphragm works overtime, sometimes the C3/C4 nerve can be innervated and then the shoulder/arm can hurt. This is usually temporarily due to moderate exercise, which if calmed down, the pain and discomfort/numbness will resolve.
