A member asked:

What causes the pain under the left rib cage, sometimes it goes to the shoulder blade and makes the left arm numb, as if blood is not flowing?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

C3/C4 nerve innervat: When the diaphragm works overtime, sometimes the C3/C4 nerve can be innervated and then the shoulder/arm can hurt. This is usually temporarily due to moderate exercise, which if calmed down, the pain and discomfort/numbness will resolve.
