A member asked:

Hello, for the past 2 weeks i have experienced "pregnancy" symptoms. i've had safe intercourse. period is 1 week late, but all pregnancy tests are (-)?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Preg. unlikely, but: Can repeat a pregnancy test after one more week, if worried. A home pregnancy test, done correctly, gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have occurred). If done sooner, a positive result is likely real, but a negative result may be due to testing too soon, and thus lead to a repeat test. If a woman gets her normal regular period, then she is not pregnant.
