A member asked:

I was prescribed pectrolyte for stomach flu and its been 4days now the cramps and nausea are still there.should i be worried?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cramps, nausea: Viral gastrointestinal tract infections and food poisoning typically cause nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Symptoms usually gradually resolve after several days. Concern arises if symptoms worsen, vomiting continues or if abdominal pain and tenderness or fever persist. Flat, room temperature ginger ale helps the nausea. See your physician if your symptoms haven't improved.
