Can you be born with acid reflux?

Acid reflux: One can inherit the tendency for GERD or acid reflux. With a bacteria called H Pylori, this can cause reflux/heartburn and can be acquired and or inherited from others. You can treat this with OTC Zantac if just heartburn. If it persists, you can go into MD to get testing for H Pylori and receive triple therapy if indicated (+). Welcome to health tap, Dr. Ivy Fisher
