GERD: There are many non-medical measures you can take to help reflux, such as avoiding particular foods, avoiding caffeine and alcohol, tilting your bed, and avoiding over eating before bedtime, but many people require long-term medication in addition to those measures. If you're developing new reflux symptoms at age 50, you should see your doctor. Good luck.
