Not Necessary: US laws protect your privacy about disclosing to anyone other than those involved in your treatment (including family members) any information about medical appointments and procedures. Google search shows you have similar protection where you live. You do not have to tell them WHY you will be out of work but you may have to have the doctor give a notice that you need time off for medical reasons.
