A member asked:

Hi, my wife is 6 weeks pregnant and she is currently struggling with flu, is there any medication she can take? her gynecologist said to avoid meds

Avoid any medication: Best to not risk the pregnancy with any drugs, no matter how benign they may sound. A hot bath is always helpful, and very warm moist towel soaks laid over the face to breath through can be useful. You can get some plain saline solutions at the drug store to spray into the nostrils to help with the congestion.
