Yes—if sterilized : You can pasteurize water by boiling it for 10 minutes. Bottled water should be sterile. Added water is no danger to successful breast-feeding.

Yes,,,but...: Your baby doesn't need anything other than your breastmilk. Water from a bottle is a way to let the overbearing family do gooders participate, but the bottle & water should be safe. As long as baby wets at least every 4-6 hours they are hydrated and don't need a supplement.
