I had a pelvic ultrasound for increasing pelvic pain. i have a 2.9cm hypoechoic lesion on my left ovary. what does that mean? my dr referred me to the gynecologist and didn't explain anything. i had a leep for cin 3 about 6.5 years ago.

Quite Common: Ovaries cyclically have cysts that enlarge and diminish in size. It's a normal process. Unless it's more than 4 cm, in which case we usually recommend a 6 week follow up, they are quite common and considered physiological (as opposed to pathological). If they continue to grow, then further steps may need to be taken.
