On prednisone for years now triglycerides are high. lost 10 pounds but level still high. can the pred still be effecting the level? do i need meds? ty

Prednisone : may not be a direct cause for elevated triglycerides, it is diabetogenic though, i.e. Can contribute to the development of insulin resistance and impair glucose metabolism, a complex process which may cause elevated triglycerides beside other factors. Although you lost weight, congrats, but your triglycerides weren't lowered, don't get frustrated. You may need statins, confer with your doctor
