Confirm diagnosis: If a person had trichomonas years ago and got treated (or has never tested positive for it), it is possible that some trich survived and reproduced and stayed with her all this time. Several years with no symptoms is a long time, but nobody knows who holds the world record for the longest number of years of having trich without symptoms. She can ask to re-test now to confirm her current diagnosis.
