A member asked:

What causes blood pressure spikes that last about a minute. during that time, my head seems to have a lot of pressure and i hear swishing?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

BP spikes: With the limited information provided, my suggestion is to ask your doctor to evaluate you and to particularly order blood or urinary tests that could detect increased catecholamines in your circulation...there are very rare adrenal gland tumors known as pheochromocytomas that could present that way. Looking “red as a beet” and having an increased heart rate are common associations. Good luck!
