Women: Komen was one of the 1st organizations to help draw attention to breast cancer and bring it out of the shadows.Organizations like komen and avon have funded a large portion of the research and community activities in the country. Women are vocal about issues near and dear to them. Other conditions can get publicity, it takes a person to champion the cause and others to follow.
