Breast cancer common: It is one of the most common cancers in women - affecting 1 in 9 over the course of a lifetime. A very serious disease but easily treatable, often with complete cure, when found in its early stages.

So common: The reasons include that it occurs in one in eight women and that the treatments are so successful especially when it is diagnosed early. There are millions of survivors in the community who are very supportive.
