I've been taking acid reflux pills for over ten years and nothing seems to work. what should i do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Confirm reflux: If you have true gerd, medicines are almost always effective. The type of medicine and the dose may impact the success of the specific medicine. For example a proton pump inhibitor such as Prilosec is more effective than an h2 blocker such as tagamet (cimetidine). If you are not better when taking strong meds with recommended dosing there are ways to confirm that your symptoms are due to gerd.
