Not entirely: While we have a mind that can direct things, a lot of the basic bodily functions are under what is called autonomic and hormonal control which is a self-regulated feedback mechanism not fully able to be altered consciously.

What an interesting: and odd question! In a sense the answer is a simple "yes." If our hearts didn't beat and our lungs didn't breathe, none of the automatic functions that keep our bodies going would work...death. But on the other hand, most things in our bodies happen automatically...we don't have conscious control over them. We can't control that heart beating or lung breathing with mind control.
