A member asked:

Hubby had urethroplasty endtoend anastomoses.worried about his recovery. how long on average?indwelling cath in for 2wks.worried about pain later too?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It should heal soon: Uretheroplasty should heal very soon. His urologist can guide him as to when he will take out his Foley catheter. Once the anastamosis of the urethera has healed(it takes 2-3 weeks), then there should not be any significant amount of pain. He should think positive and wait to worry. He is actually expected to make full recovery.
