I was recently diagnosed with acid reflux on the 19th of october 2017 and put on trustan 40mg twice daily and motiliam 10mg twice daily my throat still hurts. is this normal? i been on medz for a week now.. must i still give it time

Yes, in the meantime: ...Avoid foods & behavior that delay stomach emptying &/or relax lower esophageal sphincter--spicy, greasy food, mints, alcohol, tobacco, chocolate, tomato-based products, caffeinated &fizzy drinks, eating before bedtime. Lose weight. Elevate head of bed on blocks. Of course, maybe its not just gastroesophageal reflux?

May take 2 weeks: It may take 2 weeks to resolve symptoms. Be sure that you are not taking any alcohol, or smoking, or regularly taking aspirin, all of which can make you worse.
