PCP or ENT: All of us have tonsils, so that in itself is not the problem. Your primary care provider will be able to tell you if your tonsils are inflamed, enlarged, if so, they cause throat pain, fever, cough, etc, not just bad breath. You may also want to get your oral/dental hygiene evaluated. Too much mouth freshener can ironically make the problem worse. Any dietary factors , too much garlic??

See a Healthcare Pro: Foul mouth odors can be related to a number of different causes. The foods we eat, habits we have, i.e, tobacco, alcohol, etc., dental issues, i.e., decay, periodontal disease, removable appliances, oral hygiene, as well as issues associated with structures of the oral cavity and pharynx, i.e,, tonsils can be associated causes.
