Fibroid surgery: Fibroid tumors (leiomyomas) are common, are removed when painful or when fertility, or vaginal bleeding is a problem. The surgical removal leaves scarring in the uterine wall, and it is best to attempt pregnancy at the earliest several months after the surgery. Labor is usually cautioned in these cases, but trials of labor are carefully monitored.
