It is much more: common among Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, with little/no incidence among vertical banded gastroplasty or sleeve.It is felt that the rapid delivery of food/nutrients to the distal small intestine after bypass accounts for this complication. It is rare, probably about 1% of cases, but that is still about 5 times more common than general population. Sometimes pancreas surgery is needed to reduce insulin
