Your body's pH is: closely regulated by your lungs and kidneys. You are unlikely to be acidotic in the absence of significant disease. Thirst in the middle of the night could be due to diabetes or other conditions. Adrenal glands are VERY resilient so I am certain they are not "suffering." You may benefit from further education. See if you could attend a physiology course at a local educational facility.

Pseudo science: Popular theories about adrenal insufficiency and alkalisation are rife in the media and on the internet at the moment. There is VERY LITTLE scientific basis for any of this so be ware! A common reason for feeling thirsty in the night is breathing through your mouth causing the mouth to be dry.
