A member asked:

Why do i often feel like when i lay down, sit or stand still, with closed eyes, that what i'm on is swaying or rippling under me?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Balance: In addition to parts of our brain, peripheral nerves in our feet and tracts in our spinal cord, we use vision to maintain balance or to give us confidence in our balance. Closing your eyes removes that part of the balance mechanism. I doubt you have any serious imbalance problem.
