Headaches that: are brief and intermittent have most often been attributed to irritation or activation of the branches of the trigeminal nerve, a nerve that supplies the side of the face and forehead. Other possible causes include tumor within the brain (usually meningioma or pituitary adenoma), giant cell arteritis, stroke, etc. and imaging should be performed. Treatment often not needed or Rx indomethacin.
