The sleep patterns v: In the first 6 months the sleep patterns vary. Try to keep her more awake during the day(especially in the evenings) so that she is more tired in the evening and falls sleep easier.

Babies need naps ...: and so do their parents need them to. There certainly are babies who seem not to want to nap, but babies need about 3 hours of napping a day up to age 9-12 months. It is especially problematic if she doesn't sleep well at night either. There may not be an actual sleep disorder (almost any sleep pattern falls within "normal" for a baby) but discuss with your baby's doctor for evaluation and advice.
