A member asked:

I developed a sore/wound on the top of my right breast. it is painful (not itchy), and is pink in the center with red along the border. there is yellow fluid oozing from mainly the red area. could this be infection or inflammatory breast cancer?

Get exam: Inflammatory breast cancer doesn't usually present with a solitary sore. Usually, a rapid onset of erythema (redness), edema (swelling), and a peau d'orange appearance (ridged or pitted skin) and/or abnormal breast warmth, with or without a lump that can be felt.

Most likely: Infection. If you are lactating, some times mammary duct gets clogged and cause mastitis. There are hair follicles which can get infected while plucking them. trial of topical antibiotic and warm compresses fails then consult your doctor for proper diagnosis and treatment
