No guidelines: Melatonin is a commonly used sleep aid in adults. At the present time we have no published guidelines on using this in kids, especially in infants. As such I don't recommend it. If you are using it limit the dose to the smallest available, usually 1mg

Not at all safe for any child under age 3, and especially not for an infant. DO NOT GIVE MELATONIN TO YOUR BABY! If sleep is a problem, talk to your pediatrician about ways to reteach your baby how to sleep. Chances are they currently have falling asleep habits that are not conducive to sleeping through the night on their own.
