Toddler 1yr 3months gets a phlegmy,wheezy and tight chest whenever he gets a cold or flu with high to fever temperature.he has been on an off like this for 2 months.he has been to a paed.when this occurs he gets nebbed every 4 hrs when required?

Wheezes: Many young children get bronchiolitis when they get a viral illness. Which is tightening of the small airways in the lungs. Albuterol can occasionally open up those small airways easing the child's symptoms

Chronic pattern of wheezing with upper respiratory infections is one form of asthma. If he is otherwise well and has no allergic symptoms or family history of allergies, he is likely to improve with time. Continue to use the nebulized Albuterol treatments and also discuss the need for short or longer term inhaled steroids to control inflammation. Avoid dust, mold, smoke and common allergens.
