Virus exposure: The most common reason for HSV 1 at 31.4 would be history of a cold sore, which most commonly caused by the HSV 1 virus. (I am assuming that this is the IGG result.) It could also be positive with the history of herpes anywhere, regardless of whether you have any known outbreaks. See your doc if you get genital symptoms If you have ever had a cold sore, that is probably why your test is positive.

Lab results : Every lab has their own range of values. So your is saying some specimen from you shows you have the virus for a cold sore. Or some call it a fever blister.
