Tetanus: If you haven't had a tetanus booster in the last five years - then getting a tetanus shot is a must. Would do so as soon as possible. Take care.

Tetanus risk: It's not necessarily 'rust' that causes tetanus - rust is more of an environmental indicator for dirt, soil and/or animal feces. A puncture wound caused by a 'rusty nail' is the classic tetanus wound, although any wound, if infected by tetanus spores, could lead to tetanus. The important thing is to be vaccinated with 3 tetanus shots plus a booster every 10 years. If you're not up to date, see doc
