A member asked:

Is there evidence for effectiveness of prp or plorotherpay/sclerotherpay for wrist injuries such as tfcc tear?

Good ?: Certainly prp is the new kid on the block and generally speaking there is not too much hard data out there but some is accumulating as to prolotherapy i don't know the big issue here is that most all ins payors do not consider these types of rx as payable so that the pt is the one paying and where i come from that does not work very well personally I do use prp and have seen some good effects.

Wrist injuries: The data is mixed, though they target different goals, one being healing the other pain management. A significant number of stable tfcc injuries will do well (both healing and pain reduction) with proper immobilization, including control of forearm rotation, possibly supplemented with a simple cortisone shot.

Not specifically: I dont know of specific evidence. That being said, the science of PRP suggests that it may help in this, as in other, musculoskeletal type injuries. Best of luck.
