To some extent: Pain after surgery varies based upon many factors. Most patients with acl reconstruction are doing well within 7-14 days as things like swelling resolve. If your pain is extreme, I would not hesitate to be seen immediately. Also, simple things like using ice, elevating the leg, and making sure the bandage is not too tight can help with pain as well.
