A member asked:

For how long should i take amoxicillin 500mg for uti?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends on culture: The usual treatments for a simple, uncomplicated UTI include one of the following: 3 days of Bactrim, 3 days of ciprofloxacin, 7 days of nitrofurantoin, 7 days of Keflex, etc... Perhaps amoxicillin is used if one's urine culture result shows sensitivity to amoxicillin, but more likely one of the other antibiotics would be used. A patient can ask her doctor what the urine culture showed.
