Yes: The pneumonia vaccine is a poor label for the shot. It is a vaccine that helps the body develop antibodies (protection) against some strains of pneumococcal germs that can cause pneumonia. It is a benefit to anyone & you can have it with your history. It does not treat any condition and does not prevent all types of pneumonia.
