76 yr old pnuemonia vaccination soon just getting over what gp thinks is pluerisy 10weeks i thought it may be shingles without rash had ct scan.stethoscope heard clicking noise from lung ,no pain now.gp said i can have pneumonia vaccine true?

Yes: The pneumonia vaccine is a poor label for the shot. It is a vaccine that helps the body develop antibodies (protection) against some strains of pneumococcal germs that can cause pneumonia. It is a benefit to anyone & you can have it with your history. It does not treat any condition and does not prevent all types of pneumonia.
