I got ivig today and durning the treatment i saw that my arm was swelling up at the iv site. what causes this and will this go away?

Penetration of veins: The needle might have gone through the vein and then the swelling is from the IVIG infusion. If this were true, you may start to see some bruising at the site the next day or so. The swelling should go away in a day or 2 but the bruise will take 2-3 weeks to subside.
