A member asked:

I think i might have occipital neuralgia due to sharp shooting pains in my head and neck, is there any point seeing a gp?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See below: Seeing your GP could be a good start especially if you need a referral to a specialist. Shooting pain in the head/neck could be occipital neuralgia or related to your cervical spine. These are common conditions treated by a spine specialist.
