11 weeks pregnant. took a 20 hour car trip with a gas can in the trunk wrapped in a garbage bag. all windows down the entire time but could still intermittently smell gas in waves. no symptoms, maybe a very mild headache. could i have hurt the fetus?

Probably not: More than likely your baby is just fine and was unaffected by the gas fumes. Your body does a good job of protecting a pregnancy from inhaled substances for the most part.
