Healing if not red &: fluid is clear and not thick and yellow. Also, if the area involved is not inflamed or enlarging. It is helpful to use Domeboro astringent compresses to help dry up the oozing. This is done by soaking guaze in Domeboro solution, laying it on the rash or lesions for 10-15 mintues and repeating several times a day. Domeboro comes in packets at your pharmacy.

Cellulitis.: It is difficult to comment on a toe infection without actually seeing it. A little more historical information is necessary to help with the problem. Things like how long, swelling, redness, itching, type and color of any drainage and odor can be of importance. If there does not seem to be a significant improvement in say, a week, then it is time to make another appointment.
