A member asked:

I'm 21 years old & 5'0 tall but all my family members are above 5'2. i would like to know more about the causes & can i still grow ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Growth is unlikely: A 21 year-old will not grow taller as her growth plates have fused. (Rarely, if not fused, and she grew a tiny bit last year, she might grow a tiny tiny bit this year). To look taller, one chooses properly designed clothing and shoes with heels, plus has good posture. Vitamins, supplements, special foods, extra exercise, etc... will not make a person taller if she already closed her growth plates.
