Past use of amitriptyline due to chronic migraine came off due to side effects . been off it over six months now but seem to have developed involuntary jaw movement . jaw will shut together randomly and i get teeth clashing . do. i need to worry?

Those symptoms are likely not related to the discontinuance of amitriptiline six months ago. I suggest observation for now and pay attention to the relationship between the symptoms and other facts such as occurring more during stress, activity, at rest or during sleep, etc. You should see a neurologist if symptoms persists or get worse. Take care.

Your episodic bruxism is not due to your migraines or prior amitriptyline. See a dentist and get your jaw (TMJ) function evaluated. A nocturnal dental splint may be of value. I am skeptical of an ongoing neurological condition.
