Pain in skin graft: If there is pain under the dressing or in the graft, it could be an infection. Please see your surgeon right away for proper treatment. If your doctor is not available, since there is a great deal of pain, please go to the emergency room. Skin grafts and donor sites should not cause a lot of pain.

Donor sites hurt: The donor site is usually more painful than the recipient site because the skin has been shaved off leaving thousands of raw nerve endings. This will improve with time but until then, it is best to keep the site covered with the sealant . If you begin to see redness spreading away from the site. Have high fevers, excessive discharge, get the wound looked at.

See your doctor: I wld ask that you see your doctor to make sure the donor site is okay. If so i wld use restore silver over the donor site and cover it with a secondary dressing and check it in a couple of days.
