1-2 weeks: The donor site usually is 100% within 2 two weeks.. The length of time depends upon the technique the dentst used.

Soon!: It's likely the donor site was your palate, and there are alot of nerves here. This can take a few days to a week to stop hurting depending what type of graft was done! a gingival graft will leave a stamp sized wound, while a connective tissue graft will leave an "l" shaped wound. The "l" shape heals more quickly and is less painful. Ultimately the palate should heal and return to normal.
