What does it mean if the top of your ear turns red and gets hot?

Vasodilation: This is a similar reaction as blushing where certain stimuli cause the tiny blood vessels in the skin of the ear to dilate causing redness and warmth. Precipitating factors could be hormonal swings, temperature changes, anxiety, spices, alcohol, embarrassment.
