Possibly flushing: This could simply be flushing, or blushing, some people seem to do this more in their ears. If it is painful for a while, you could be showing signs of relapsing polychondritis. This sometimes shows up in the throat as well. Different areas of cartilage can become inflamed for no apparent reason in this disease. If this is happening, see an ENT or a rheumatologist
