Reduces help seeking: Low self esteem leads to not asking for help and not taking advantage of available help, helplessness & hopelessness. Also could be depression related. Counter low self esteem by seeing everyone is flawed and has troubles, even if it doesn't look like it. Professional helpers - counselors, teachers & mentors- can help you see your strengths and connect with like minded others. This helps a lot!

Teen Low Esteem: Teens generally wrestle with esteem issues but if it lingers it can damage their sense of self in significant ways. Teens need support and especially need to be listened to with empathy and understanding. If your esteem continues to be low ask your doctor for a referral to a mental health professional who can help understand how you defeat yourself and how to think better of yourself. Best.
