Half life: The half life of clindamycin is about 3 hours. So in 6 hours its is eliminated. Side effects go away once the drug is stopped. If you have c.diff a diarrhea side effect you need to check in with the doctor again for stool c and s and possible new antibiotic treatment. C.diff diarrhea smells bad and is frequency yellowish in color. Other side effects should resolve with stopping the antibiotic

1-2 days: Clindamycin is metabolized and eliminated quite rapidly, usually gone within a day or two. However, some side effects, especially diarrhea, can last a lot longer, especially if due to Clostridium dificile. C. diff problems can be triggered by clindamycin. If in doubt, get in touch ASAP with the doctor who prescribed it.
